My current goal is to win a Legendary campaign as the Ardiaei while fulfilling the conditions of the This is Total war achievement. A large part of this is thanks to the modding community finding ways to make gameplay better, shaping TW: Rome II into the game the fans wanted it to be. AI isn't even coordinated enough to pull off stuff like that. Divide et Impera is a total overhaul of Rome 2 that seeks to provide a challenging, historically authentic, realistic experience of the ancient world and warfare. Some might argue that Total War: Rome II will just never live up to its predecessor no matter what. For example one of my recent ones featured a massive suprise Roman sea invasion of the Syrian coast that I had to scramble to deal with. They tend to be more interesting than the AI and players usually have the sense to call it once the game is decided, so unless you are evenly matched no need for a late game slog. Or you could do a H2H campaign against another player. A League or their own isn't easy either but you don't need to do a whole campaign for that one. I haven't done enough DEI to know what those objectives should be with the mod, but for vanilla it entails things such as win a campaign as quickly as possible or under a certain turn time (In my case that would be 75 turns,) or win as Rome or Carthage on VH or Legendary (-25 loyalty) as your starting republic government type (-10 loyalty) without losing any of your three other parties to succession. To do that you need to set difficult to achieve objectives for yourself. Total War: ROME II - Emperor Edition > General Discussions > Topic Details. Dei makes the game more interesting but it doesn't fix the problems of late game.
